Institutions helping the handicapped citizens in the Chomutov area

v anglickém jazyce The diploma thesis deals with the institutions offering their services to handicapped citizens in Chomutov and surroundings. Its goal is to chart this area, specifically the towns Chomutov, Jirkov, Klášterec nad Ohří and Kadaň and explain the work of the institutions, which are working with the handicapped people. It will also deal with the social services in the Czech Republic in general. There will be two research methods in the diploma thesis - investigating of the relevant internet sources and also the personal visits of the chosen institutions, observations and conversations, if their realisation is possible. The investigation's object will primarily be the operation of these institutions, financing, legislation or clients' and employees' satisfaction and so on. The thesis can well serve as a map of the institutions for the handicapped citizens for those interested in these services as well as for the public who will be interested in getting to know more about these institutions. Financing of social care services for the elderly in the Czech Republic - current problems and challenges

The thesis "Financing of Social Care services for the Elderly in the Czech Republic - Current Problems and Challenges" deals with analysis of system of social care services for the elderly in view of the fact that the current financing form is subject to criticism for its inefficiency. The aim of this thesis is to critically reflect changes in the provision and financing of social care services for the elderly in the Czech Republic after 2007 in the context of current challenges related to long-term social care and health care. The thesis in its introduction first deals with the formulation of the research problem, deals with particular targets, research questions and the methods of data collection, which are the methods of analysis and public policy making and qualitative research methods. It also discusses the theoretical background of social services and their financing. The next chapter of the thesis deals with the system development of social services and changes in the provision and financing of social care services, which occurred in connection with the adoption of Act No. 108/2006 Coll., On social services. Integration of volunteering in social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis "Integration of volunteering in social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic" deals with nowadays ageing population has become substantial part of the development of society. One of the important instruments of social policy to fight the adverse effects of the ageing population should be prevention and also the quality of social services for old people, support for civil society and volunteering, which contribution to the society is important and is going to strengthen in the future. Generally, the importance of a volunteer for a old person is as an intermediary with the world outside, and as an associate who has time only for him. The volunteer helps developing civic virtue and solving social problems usually as a partner of the state services and of the non-profit sector. In the consequence of a significant change in the legislation, which was put into practice by a new law in social services, I focus my work primarily on what the new law brings and how it has changed the scope of its social services in practice during its year-and-half force. And what role the phenomenon of volunteering defines too.
